The real estate investment amount was originally set at $1 million and in September 2018 was drastically reduced along with that for capital investment and bank deposits. The investment was required into real estate, shares of Turkish companies or government issued bonds. Citizenship of Turkey is granted after 3-6 months following the applicants investment. The applicant must hold the investment for a minimum of 3 years.

Our Turkish Citizenship by Investment (TCBI) department together with our Law firm partners are advising on Turkish Citizenship by Investment (TCBI) and Global Citizenship and Residency by Investment Programs.

 In recent years one of the most important reasons for foreign real estate investors buying property in Turkey is to obtain Turkish Citizenship.
We advise on all required steps of TCBI application, and conduct and follow up all the necessary steps very diligently for all our clients. So far we have advised and represented our clients globally, and duly obtained Turkish Citizenships for our Clients from deferent parts of the world and obtained Turkish Citizenships for them. 

 
With respect to the new regulations and amendments made in Turkish Citizenship Code, foreign investors who would meet at least one of the below mentioned investment options and criteria can easily obtain Turkish Citizenships for theirselves as well as for their families: 

 
· Option (A) stipulates that a minimum amount of property (real estate) investment shall be made for $250k USD on the condition to not sell the invested property within the next 3 years. This amount has been reduced from $1m USD to $250k USD. 


· Option (B) requires to deposit $500k USD in cash (or the equal value in Turkish Lira) for at least 3 years in one of the Turkish Banks.

 
This means it is possible to obtain TC for yourself, as well as for your family members: your spouse (wife or husband) and children below 18 years old with proceeding one of the above mentioned investment options according to your investment choice, and once the required conditions are duly met.

For the time being, other options laid down by Turkish law below to proceed for TCBI has not yet been implemented into the practice by the authorities though we expect these would be available as well within inside 2020. 

 
· Option (C) requires that a fixed capital investment shall be made minimum of $500k USD (or the equal value in Turkish Lira. This investment shall be confirmed by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

· Option (D) indicates that TC could be obtained provided that government bonds and bills to be purchased on the condition to hold them for at least 3 years. And this investment shall be confirmed by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.


· Option (E), foresees that it will be possible to obtain TC in the event of an investment to be made into a Turkish real estate investment trust, or buy the shares of the venture capital investment fund with a minimum amount of $500k USD.
